The public sector officially enters the pre-referendum period today. This comes in the final month of our year-long challenge to release 8000 new sets of data as open data set by the Secretary of State last June.
We have (as of mid-May) already published 5366 new open datasets. However, in-line with guidance issued to all the public sector for this pre-referendum period, we are going to pause our publication process as from today.
What this doesn't mean is that we are altering our target, or altering our deadline for delivering the 8000 total. It simply means we will all be working hard to ensure that there is a whole load of new data published after the referendum.
So, rest assured that while it might be quiet for a few weeks, there will be plenty of new open data appearing in time for our DataMarket on 28 June, and plenty of new stories to tell about how our data is being used.
